The transmission lever in electric vehicles is like the automatic transmission lever in conventional vehicles. The position of the transmission lever in an electric vehicle that is absolutely necessary is only the R, N and D positions. Besides that position can be omitted. And again, the transmission lever on an electric vehicle can be replaced using a button, even a touch screen.

Outside the R, N and D positions of the transmission lever on an electric vehicle, there can be P, B positions and so on, depending on each designer. B position only exists in electric vehicles, although in fact it can also be applied to conventional vehicles with automatic transmissions, although its function is not the same as B position on electric vehicles.

If the position of the transmission lever on an electric vehicle only has the R, N and D positions plus the P position, the transmission lever can be changed using a button or touch screen. But no, if there is B position, especially if B position has a number of speeds of more than one, like the design we developed.

Changing the transmission lever in an electric vehicle using a button or touch screen is only possible if the transmission lever has only the R, N and D positions plus P. Because the operation of the buttons and touch screen requires sight by eye, using the buttons can still be touched, even though it is a bit difficult. If the transmission lever has B position, especially with the B position of more than one speed like the design we developed, outside of the R, N and D positions, changing the transmission lever to a button or touch screen cannot be done. If you force it, it will be dangerous, because B position needs to be operated while the vehicle is moving.
